Bristol/London
After two suitcases containing body parts were found in the English city of Bristol,… Police continued search for a suspect. Meanwhile, officers had arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with the incident, but he was later released, according to a statement from the Metropolitan Police that evening.
This was not the suspect that investigators have been looking for since Thursday with a public appeal. The person wanted is a 24-year-old whose photo was published earlier.
During searches of a London apartment, police also reportedly found other body parts believed to be linked to the finds in Bristol.
The criminal case is a mystery. Police were called to Bristol’s famous suspension bridge around midnight on Thursday night after witnesses said a man was behaving strangely with a suitcase.
Police believe two men are dead
When police arrived ten minutes later, the man was gone. He left the suitcase behind. The second piece of luggage was then discovered nearby. According to initial investigations, the suitcases contained the remains of two adult males; the identities of the victims have not yet been determined.
Police have since been searching for a man who apparently drove from London to Bristol and then took a taxi to the Clifton Suspension Bridge. The bridge is considered a landmark of the city. Police are also investigating in the British capital London.
