Almost six months after the fatal shooting in Ranschbach (Südliche Weinstraße), the trial against the 28-year-old suspect began in Landau. Two witnesses were invited to the start, a spokesman for the regional court announced. The charge is manslaughter. According to the prosecutor, the man allegedly obtained a revolver for reasons that have not yet been clarified and fired several shots at a 37-year-old on 12 February. The victim died from injuries to his head and stomach.
According to previous investigations, the suspect, originally from Syria, would have encountered the man while he was walking to his car. Several negotiation dates have been scheduled until the end of October.
