The Google Pixel 9 series smartphones unveiled last month came with new features exclusive to the lineup. These include Auto Frame and Reimagine, which could make their way to older Pixel smartphones.
Android Authority and user X BuildDebug found evidence in the Google Photos app that suggests Google could bring Auto Frame and Reimagine to older Pixels. The post says there are three variants of the Google Photos app with different settings: one for all non-Pixel Android devices, one for the Pixels released between 2021 and 2023and one for Pixels released in 2024.

The Google Photos app for the 2024 Pixels, i.e. the Pixel 9 series, includes code strings related to the Auto Frame and Reimagine features, and these code strings are also found in the Google Photos app (v6.99) for the Pixels released between 2021 and 2023, suggesting that Google could bring these two features to older Pixels released between 2021 and 2023.
The post says that the regular version of the Google Photos app for non-Pixel devices does not include the code strings for Auto Frame and Reimagine, meaning they will either not be available on non-Pixel devices or will remain Pixel-exclusive for some time.
