September is set to start with a lot of rain for many Brits.
Weather maps from Netweather show a deluge heading towards the British Isles on September 1 and persisting until September 2.
Rain from Europe will travel north and hit England and Wales, according to the meteorologist.
Scotland will avoid the worst of the weather on September 1, but that will change in the next 24 hours.
According to the maps, the heaviest rain on September 1st will be in the south-east of England.
Wales and the south-west are likely to avoid the worst conditions, as is Northern Ireland.
However, on September 2, torrential rain will fall across north Wales, northern England, Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland.
Met Office Experts have also predicted rainier weather for early September.
Met Office Meteorologist Alex Burkill said: “On Sunday the showers look like they could become a little more widespread, with the highest chance of some heavy rain and thunderstorms in eastern parts of the UK, but they could spread a little further west into central areas too. It’s worth noting that these heavy rain and thunderstorms could be quite impactful, we could see some heavy rain, hail and strong winds.”
Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Dan Harris said that between cloudy spells, temperatures could rise to 30C early next week.
He explained: “The forecast for the end of this weekend and early next week carries greater than average uncertainty due to the complex interaction of a range of volatile and small-scale weather features in and around the UK.
Tonight and tonight:
Fairly warm sunshine in the evening, leading to a dry night with clear skies, leading to patches of fog and mist forming in the west and north. Southern England likely to be cloudier in the early morning and feeling chilly in the north.
Saturday:
Fair for most places, but cloudier in the south and southwest with some showers and thunderstorms around the southwest coasts. Light but fresh winds in the northwest. Feels pleasantly sunny.
Forecast for Sunday to Tuesday:
Cloudier with some showers and thunderstorms on Sunday, but temperatures peaking in the southeast. Uncertain in the new work week with a chance of showers and some longer periods of rain.
