The campaign team of US Vice President Kamala Harris released its first video about the presidential election in November. Entitled We choose freedom It shows what matters to Harris as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee: freedom from abortion rights, freedom from gun violence and the freedom to “not just get by, but get ahead.”

By doing so, you are choosing a future where no child lives in poverty, where everyone can afford health insurance. “When we fight, we win,” Harris said. The 79-second clip is accompanied by Beyoncé’s title Freedom.

The Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump does not mention Harris by name in the video. However, she does refer to him in several places, including in the ongoing criminal proceedings against Trump. Harris, a former attorney general of California, makes it clear that she will make Trump’s legal entanglements a central theme of her campaign.

“What kind of country do we want to live in?”

Early in the campaign ad, Harris says, “In this election, every single one of us is faced with a question: What kind of country do we want to live in? There are people who believe we should live in a country of chaos, of fear, of hate” — there are photos of Trump and his vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance. Then Harris continues, “But we — we choose something different. We choose freedom.”

After US President Joe Biden withdraws of the active campaign for the presidential election, Harris had announced to want to be a candidate yourself. The majority of the representatives, including Biden and Nancy Pelosi, have pledged their votes for Harris. This should be yours Nomination as Democratic candidate be sure. This should happen in early August.

If we win the November election, that would be the case Harris the first woman to lead the US.
