The Baltimore Orioles didn’t want to waste any more time.

After watching him grow last year and dominate through the minor league ranks, and after putting on a show during spring training against the big boys, they decided to call up the best prospect in baseball, Jackson Holliday, to the big leagues.

Holliday’s set of skills make him a likely contributor right out of the gate: he has incredible bat-to-ball skills, some sneaky power, speed, defense, and the intangibles to succeed.

Only ten games in Triple-A were needed this year for him to show he belongs in the majors.

When you hit .333/.482/.595 as he did in those 10 contests, it’s hard to go unnoticed.

The O’s found a clever way to talk to Holliday and make him believe it wasn’t his time, only to find out seconds later that he is going to the bigs.

Here is the video of the wholesome moment.

The person talking to Holliday told him to thank his dad for letting him spend time in MLB clubhouses.

Now, it’s going to be young Jackson finding ways to get his dad to the O’s clubhouse to watch his son’s first few steps in Major League Baseball.

We are guessing Matt, his father, won’t have any issues gaining entry.

Holliday is expected to be a regular immediately after landing on the O’s roster, and will start writing his own story as an MLB player.

He projects to be an All-Star talent who is good enough to fight for a few MVP awards.

Can he deliver on that promise?

We don’t know, but it will sure be fun to find out.
