That vivo V40e isn’t the only new V40 series device launching today – it joins the V40 Light 4G And V40 Light 5G launched in Indonesia. You will have a hard time telling the two Lite variants apart as they both share the same design and core hardware, except for the chipset.
The V40 Lite 4G gets the Snapdragon 685 with 8GB of RAM while the V40 Lite 5G is equipped with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip and up to 12GB of RAM.
Both phones share the exact same design and dimensions, including a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel houses a 32MP front-facing camera housed in a punch-hole cutout.
There’s a 50MP (IMX882) main camera on the back that’s paired with a 2MP depth helper camera and vivo’s Aura Light portrait system. The new device also comes with vivo’s AI Imaging suite that includes AI Erase, Photo Enhance, and document scanning from images in your camera roll.
Both phones run Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14 and are equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports up to 80W fast charging.
The V40 Lite 4G comes in Titanium Silver, Pearl Violet, and Carbon Black. The retail price is Rp. 3,299,000 ($220) in that case 8/128 GB trim or IDR 3,599,000 ($240) for the 8/256GB version.
The V40 Lite 5G is available in Titanium Silver and Carbon Black. The price is Rp 4,299,000 ($285) for the 8/256GB trim.
