The Bill Belichick era with the New England Patriots ended unceremoniously as he and team owner Robert Kraft opted to part ways after six Super Bowl championships together.
Belichick’s tenure with the team was clearly reaching it’s end after the team suffered another disappointing regular season.
The Patriots finished the 2023 NFL season with a paltry 4-13 record, clearing the way for Kraft to start fresh with new head coach Jerod Mayo.
While Belichick surprisingly didn’t get offered a head coaching job this past cycle, he’ll likely be a popular name the next time around given his experience and track record.
Meanwhile, his sons remain around football as Brian Belichick will remain on the Patriots’ staff as the safeties coach while Steve Belichick took a job as Washington’s defense coordinator.
Steven is already being welcomed to the university as his cut-up sleeve shirt has made its way to campus via So Cal Salty.

The look was first popularized by the elder Belichick and it appears that the Huskies are embracing their new defensive coordinator’s fashion sense.
Steve spent 13 seasons working with his father in New England and it seems that he’s looking to forge his own path forward.
Steve reunites with Washington head coach Jedd Fisch who served as the Patriots’ quarterbacks coach in 2020 and the two will work to get the Huskies back to the national championship game.
Meanwhile, Bill will be waiting for his next opportunity at the professional level where some team will eventually give him another shot to coach.
