Last week’s poll shows mixed opinions about the vivo V40 Pro – some think it’s a great option for the price, but even more people think it’s too expensive. To be fair, there are regional variations when it comes to prices and competition.
The vivo V40 Pro is seen as a version of the V30 Pro with a flagship chipset. Speaking of which, the V30 Pro is only a few months old (it launched in March), so some are tempted to wait for the V50 Pro. But in the here and now, the V40 Pro is a solid choice if you want high-quality cameras.
There have been some complaints about the curved screen, as usual, but the IP69K-rated durability, large 5,500mAh battery, 50MP 50mm telephoto camera, and Dimensity 9200+ are seen as good reasons to choose the V40 Pro.
Vanilla vivo V40 It’s a much smaller upgrade – same Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, same 6.78” curved OLED display too. True, it gets an IP69K rating (up from a basic IP54) and the battery is 500mAh larger. However, this model’s popularity will depend on reviews even more than with its Pro sibling.
The Zeiss badge on the back promises superior optics compared to what the V30 used, so an improvement in image quality could tip the scales in the V40’s favor. Price is an issue, however, as the same amount of money can get you a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip with the Xiaomi 14 Civi, which also has a telephoto camera, unlike the V40.
