Coinbase hired History Associates Inc. to pursue communications with the SEC under the Freedom of Information Act – a process that initially ended with the agency refusing citing that the documents were related to a ongoing investigation. Coinbase’s henchman eventually filed a lawsuit over the denial, and History Associates is preparing to ask the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to force the agency’s hand, which has since suggested that the reason of his initial refusal was perhaps no longer valid.
