Earlier today, Oppo revealed ColorOS 15 (based on Android 15) with a detailed roadmap for updating older devices – including OnePlus phones in China. OnePlus is still marketing its OxygenOS software for its global devices and version 15 of it will be officially revealed in a week.
OxygenOS 15 is coming on October 24 (next Thursday) and will launch under the motto “Speed meets AI”. No surprise here, ColorOS 15 also focuses heavily on AI.
OnePlus is staying tight-lipped on details at the moment, but the company has been working on AI features for months now – since AI Eraser Tool in April, at Gemini and more recently Gemini Live (a conversational version of Google’s AI). You can learn more at Gemini Live here.
Naturally, we expect the company’s future phones to launch with the new operating system out of the box – the OnePlus 13 is expected. later this monthat least in China (the global launch could take place in early 2025). It will use the latest Snapdragon chip as it was presented in a teaser video from Qualcomm – the chip itself is expected to be revealed a few days before the first batch of phones.
