The Denver Nuggets are consistently vying for the top spot in the Western Conference and many people believe they have a very good shot at returning to the NBA Finals this year.

However, they are not without their fair share of competition.

Speaking on ESPN, Chris Canty predicted that the Minnesota Timberwolves are the team that could get in Denver’s way and prevent them from battling for their second championship ring.

While some people hold Minnesota’s youth and inexperience against them, Canty thinks this will actually help them stay competitive and strong.

But beyond that, he thinks the team’s defense is going to be a real problem for the Nuggets or any other team.

He cited the incredible work of Rudy Gobert, who is currently the frontrunner for Defensive Player of the Year.

Canty admitted that there are certain things that will challenge the team, notably their current problems with injuries.

But he still thinks they are the only squad that could truly minimize the Nuggets.

He pointed out the amazing season that Anthony Edwards is having and believes that he could be the difference-maker that puts the Timberwolves over the top.

Canty reminded fans that the Nuggets and Timberwolves will meet a few more times before the regular season is over.

This will give everyone a chance to watch these teams compete and get a better idea of how they might do in the Western Conference Finals.

Hope has been high for the Timberwolves all year long as they have continually racked up big wins and have surpassed most expectations.

If they are able to take down the Nuggets in the postseason, it will be a sign that the Timberwolves are the real deal and a squad that other teams should fear far into the future.
