The top quarterback prospects in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft are getting a lot of buzz right now, as it isn’t beyond the realm of possibility that the first three picks on April 25 will all be quarterbacks, starting with Caleb Williams out of the University of Southern California.

Although many doubt that the Chicago Bears will take another one than Williams at No. 1 overall, there’s been a lot of speculation about who the Washington Commanders will go with at No. 2 overall, as the team desperately needs a young quarterback to build around.

That said, Drake Maye has been getting a lot of attention as the player the Commanders will take at No. 2, but Jayden Daniels and J.J. McCarthy have also been considered for second pick.

Interestingly enough, these quarterbacks have made enough noise to attract teams in the top 10 to 15 picks, which has led to trade speculation.

However, the New England Patriots at No. 3 overall might not be interested in making a deal, as it seems they could be interested in Maye if he falls to them, according to Cerrone Battle of NBC Sports Boston.

“Eliot Wolf, of all people, crept up behind him and was standing behind UNC coaches and all those guys,” Battle said. “The way Eliot Wolf and [Jerod] Mayo were reacting, they’re not trading out of that pick.”

Only time will tell how things unfold on April 25, with some movement expected in the draft, but there’s no telling whether the Commanders and Patriots will be willing to make a trade to move down.

Things will get interesting heading toward the draft regarding teams like the Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, and Las Vegas Raiders that could be looking to trade up for a quarterback.
