The actress Angie Harmon shared the devastating news that one of her family’s dogs was shot and killed by an Instacart delivery person over the Easter weekend.

The 51-year-old former Law & Order star revealed on Instagram on Monday that her dog Oliver had been killed by the delivery person after they dropped off groceries to their home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

‘This Easter weekend a man delivering groceries for Instacart shot & killed our precious Oliver,’ she wrote, alongside several sweet photos of the deceased pet. ‘He got out of his car, delivered the food & THEN shot our dog.’

Instacart responded to Harmon’s claims with a statement to DailyMail.com.

‘We were deeply saddened and disturbed to hear about this incident. We have no tolerance for violence of any kind, and the shopper account was immediately suspended from our platform,’ it said. ‘We have been in direct contact with the customer and are cooperating with law enforcement on their investigation.’

In her Instagram post, Harmon claimed that the Instacart shopper knew that they were not being recorded before the shot the dog.

‘Our ring camera was charging in the house, which he saw & then knew he wasn’t being recorded,’ she wrote.

Harmon noted that the driver was released by police after claiming that they shot the dog in ‘self defense.’

However, the Rizzoli & Isles star disputed that her dog had attacked the driver, and she added that ‘He did not have a scratch or bite on him nor were his pants torn.’

She described a chilling interaction in which the driver allegedly admitted to killing her dog.

‘He shot our dog with my daughters & myself at home & just kept saying, “yeah, I shot your dog. Yeah I did,”‘ she wrote.

Harmon identified the driver as a man but claimed that they were using a woman’s identity on their Instacart profile, which she posted on Instagram, though the delivery person’s identity has not been publicly released yet.

‘We are completely traumatized & beyond devastated at the loss of our beloved boy & family member,’ she concluded, while adding ‘#RIP OLLIE.’

Harmon’s post included a sweet photo of someone scratching Ollie’s chin, as well as a photo of the dog when he was a puppy, plus photos of him cuddling with her other dogs.

She included a cute video in which she theatrically cleared her throat off camera because Ollie had broken the rules and sat on the couch, but then another woman gave him some much-appreciated head scratches instead of scolding him.

Harmon subsequently wrote a message to the delivery driver in her Instagram stories.

‘To the man who took Ollie away from us: your actions are despicable and inexcusable,’ she seethed. ‘You’ve not only robbed us of a beloved member of our family but you’ve also traumatized us beyond measure.’

She said it was ‘beyond comprehension’ that ‘someone could commit such a heartless act.’

Harmon added: ‘I’m devastated that I didn’t get to say goodbye to him.’

After modeling early in her career, Harmon got her big acting break on the bizarre two-season series Baywatch Nights.

However, it was her addition to the main cast of Law & Order from 1998 to 2001 made her a hit with fans and critics.

Harmon played the assistant DA Abbie Carmichael, who worked in close collaboration with longtime star Sam Waterston’s character Jack McCoy.

She went on to be a popular television star with numerous lead and supporting roles, as well as occasional film parts.

Harmon’s biggest role to date was on the crime drama series Rizzoli & Isles, in which she played a Boston homicide detective who works in collaboration with a medical examiner to solve crimes.

The TNT series ran for seven seasons from 2010 to 2016.
