During their summer trips through Germany, government officials try not only to make speeches and shake hands, but also to have direct conversations with citizens. Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock also showed off her athletic skills during her summer tour in North Rhine-Westphalia.
During a visit to TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen The Green politician not only spoke to athletes with disabilities and the owner of a prosthetics manufacturer. During the visit on site, she also exchanged her dress for gymnastics clothes and climbed on a trampoline.
Before her political career, Baerbock was a competitive athlete – as a trampoline gymnast. After the visit to Leverkusen, the minister went on to Cologne, to the European Astronaut Centre of the European Space Agency (ESA).
