The New York Giants went through a major change in the offseason.

Surprisingly, they parted ways with defensive coordinator Wink Martindale, one of the best in business.

However, it doesn’t seem like HC Brian Daboll is going to miss him that much.

When asked about that, Daboll simply claimed that it’s the nature of business, adding that things change every year and that he’s excited to have Shane Bowen (Via Giants Videos).

Martindale is one of the most respected defensive minds in the game.

The Michigan Wolverines didn’t hesitate to lure him to Ann Arbor.

Martindale is reportedly going to be one of the highest-paid assistants in all of college football, making more than $2 million annually.

He’ll make $2.5 million in 2025 and $2.7 million in the final year of the three-year pact he signed to make his return to college football after two decades.

As for the Giants, they found a more than suitable replacement in Shane Bowen, who was the architect behind Mike Vrabel’s defense with the Tennessee Titans for the past three years.

They don’t have a good offensive core of players but their defense can be very dominant, so all eyes will be on him next season.
