Russell Wilson is the new man under center for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and it led to them trading Kenny Pickett, their previous starting quarterback, to the Philadelphia Eagles.

In two NFL seasons, Pickett, the No. 20 pick in 2022, has proven that he is not a starting-caliber signal-caller, at least not yet, and now he will be backing up Jalen Hurts in the City of Brotherly Love.

Pickett took to Instagram to show off a Donovan McNabb jersey he apparently got as a Christmas gift one year when he was a little kid, per Steelers Depot.

Although Pickett played his college ball at the University of Pittsburgh, he grew up in Ocean Township, New Jersey, which is located about 80 miles away from Philly, and he was an Eagles fan as a kid.

Now, he will get to experience the elusive dream of playing for the team he grew up rooting for, and he will be playing for an Eagles team that could be poised for a revival.

The Eagles, who got to the brink of a Super Bowl championship at the end of the 2022 season, won 10 of their first 11 games last year, only to come apart at the seams afterward and lose in the first round of the playoffs to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

But they have made some big moves this offseason, including getting star running back Saquon Barkley and linebacker Devin White.

Philly also has a new defensive coordinator in Vic Fangio, and thus there is hope that their late-season struggles will be a thing of the past.
