The Dallas Mavericks are one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now.

Led by Luka Doncic, Jason Kidd’s team is looking scary ahead of the playoffs, and the moves they made at the trade deadline paid off in no time.

Doncic recently broke the franchise record for the most points scored in a single season.

That’s why Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes took to Twitter to voice his support for him as MVP.

Truth be told, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to give Doncic the award.

The Mavs have one of the best records in the game, and Doncic is leading the league in scoring with a whopping 33.9 points per game.

Doncic is also averaging 9.2 rebounds, 9.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 4.1 three-pointers per game on 48/38/78 shooting splits.

His chemistry with Kyrie Irving seems to be off the charts, and they have been the best scoring duo in the NBA by a significant margin.

Just like Mahomes in the NFL, Doncic is breaking all kinds of offensive records in the NBA, playing the game at his own pace, and having opposing teams working overtime to try and figure out a way to stop him.

Of course, Doncic still needs to take a leap forward in the postseason and lead the team back to the NBA Finals for the first time since Dirk Nowitzki did it more than a decade ago.

But for now, not many fans or players would be mad to see him running away with the MVP award.
