Unless you’re the Green Bay Packers, it’s never easy to replace a Hall of Fame quarterback.
The New England Patriots have found that out the hard way, failing to find someone who can lead them back to relevance after Tom Brady’s departure.
Things got so ugly that it even cost Bill Belichick his job, which is something most NFL fans and analysts never thought would happen.
That’s why it’s far from a surprise to see that the Patriots are locked in to put a stop to that situation and get their new franchise quarterback.
According to a report by Mike Reiss of ESPN, barring a shocking turn of events and a massive offer they simply cannot turn down, the Pats will take a quarterback with their first-round pick, which has been the plan for the past couple of months (via Los Pats Talks).
Unless an unprecedented trade offer comes their way, the #Patriots “will move forward with a plan that has been months in the works” and they will draft a quarterback at No. 3, per @MikeReiss.

This is what they should do.
It’s a fact that the Patriots aren’t just one player away from being good and that they could benefit from turning that No. 3 pick into multiple selections.
It’s also a fact that this is one of the most stacked draft classes at the quarterback position, and potential franchise quarterbacks just don’t grow on trees.
Of course, the Patriots will need to be patient with whoever they get in the first round, as not many rookie quarterbacks are able to make an impact right away, especially with no weapons at their disposal.
If they allow him to develop and grow through his mistakes, this could finally be an end to their struggles.
