Rail: Railway line between Hannover and Minden closed

Due to a lightning strike, the important railway line is in between Hanover and Minden were closed for hours on Sunday evening. In the morning, a railway spokesperson told the German news agency that the route had been reopened.

The closure lasted about four hours. During this time, trains were reportedly diverted via Bremen. The company had spoken on its website about massive disruptions due to the storm in Lindhorst, Lower Saxony.

According to the railway spokesperson, there were no further disruptions nationwide due to the thunderstorms that hit large parts of Germany on Sunday night.
