A trans woman described as a “Soho icon” has been found dead more than a week after going missing.

Natasha Reddington-Romanov, 55, was last seen on September 20, with friends concerned she may have been targeted because transgender.

Metropolitan Police confirmed that he had been found in the River Thames and that his death was considered “unexpected, but not suspicious.”

He was last seen walking from Trisha’s, a jazz club Greek Street in Soho, heading to Bateman Street last Friday at 2am wearing a white Chanel suit.

Ms Reddington-Romanov was well known to the venue, having previously worked there for about 10 years.

Her friend, Tracy Kawalik, told Metro where Ms Reddington-Romanov had dinner Chinatown with the owner Trisha and returned to the club to drink with the same woman – known as Trish – later that night.

When Trisha closed at 1.30am, Ms Reddington-Romanov and her friends went to buy more drinks at the nearby Raincall bar.

However, when they arrived and saw people queuing outside the door, Ms Reddington-Romanov said she was going home to her apartment in Old Kent Road but is believed to have never arrived.

Ms Kawalik described her friend that way Her standards are “vivacious, outspoken and glamorous.”

The Met said: “Officers carrying out inquiries in relation to a missing person report have recovered one body. Officials believe the body found is that of Natasha Reddington-Romanov, a 55-year-old woman who was reported missing from south direction.

“Natasha’s next of kin have been informed of this development. On Saturday, September 21, officers were notified of the discovery of a body at River Thames near Vauxhall Bridge.

“Work has been underway to confirm the identity of this person. In the meantime, Natasha’s disappearance was reported to the police on Tuesday, September 24 and a missing person investigation was immediately carried out.

“It was further confirmed that the body found was Natasha’s. His death is being treated as unexpected, but not suspicious. A file will be prepared for the Coroner.”
