The Cincinnati Bengals have a new workhorse running back.
They parted ways with veteran star Joe Mixon, trading him to the Houston Texans.
Now, Zack Moss is expected to handle the duties in the new-look offense, as former offensive coordinator Brian Callahan has left the building.
Even so, as much as Callahan is no longer on the premises, the Bengals’ offense should look quite similar in the foreseeable future.
That’s why Moss wound up choosing Cincinnati over the Dallas Cowboys, the other team reportedly leading the race to sign him.
Talking to Kay Adams for her Up & Adams Show, he claimed that the Bengals made more sense for him in terms of their offensive schemes and the things they usually run.
“Cincy made the most sense from the structure of the offense and how the offense is played,” Moss said.

He talked about how they usually run a shotgun offense with a lot of inside zones and gap-scheme runs, which is clearly a better fit for his game, especially when it comes to being a factor in the passing game as well.
He also raved about having the opportunity to play next to guys like Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase, adding that the Bengals just had too much talent on both sides of the field.
The Cowboys were the least-active team in free agency, and that’s not likely to change at this point in the offseason.
They will need to dig deep into the market or the NFL Draft to find a new running back, as Tony Pollard has also left, and their current depth chart is far from impressive.
