James Sikking (1934-2024) has died at the age of 90. This was reported by ‘People’ among others. James Sikking’s career spanned six decades. He is best known for his role as Lt. Howard Hunter on the series “Hill Street Police Station,” which ran for seven seasons from 1981 to 1987. The Emmy-nominated actor also played Dr. David Howser, father of the genius Doogie (played by Neil Patrick Harris, 51) on the series “Doogie Howser, M.D.,” which ran from 1989 to 1993.

The actor, born in 1934 in Los Angeles, married for the second time to Florine Sikking, an author he met at university and married in September 1962. According to US media reports, his children Emily and Andrew and several grandchildren are also among his survivors.
