Bernhard Weber from Bern, Switzerland, fell victim to an aggressive bird of prey attack while jogging. The curious thing: This is the second incident of this nature in a few weeks, in which the 53-year-old was attacked by birds of prey. In the most recent attack, Weber suffered deep wounds to his face that bled profusely, such as “Blick.ch“ reported.
The man tells Blick.ch that he noticed the bird of prey during his morning jog. After the first attack, he tried to fend off the bird and continue on his route, but the bird attacked again, this time from behind.
Birds of prey are particularly aggressive during the breeding season
After the second attack, he noted, “I immediately bled from my head.” The Swiss then sought help from an acquaintance from the neighborhood who treated the wound.
After this traumatic experience, Weber reported the incident to the local game warden, according to “Blick.ch”. He suspected that the bird of prey could be a buzzard or a kite. Conservationists say the attacks could be due to the bird’s breeding season, when joggers such as weavers are seen as potential enemies and threats. The area is now marked with posters to warn other joggers and walkers.
