Bruno Fernandes received an ‘astronomical offer’ to join Al-Hilal in January but turned the Saudi Arabia side down out of loyalty to Manchester United.
That’s according to Record, who say the Portuguese international turned down the ‘pharaonic proposal’ to stay at Old Trafford.
According to their information the Manchester United captain responded negatively to the proposal from Jorge Jesus’ side, believing that he still has things to do in European football in a United shirt.
The midfielder is an express wish for Al-Hilal manager Jorge Jesus, who worked with him at Sporting Club de Portugal, and he wants a reunion with him.
That means their assessment of him has not stopped and will continue until the end of the season and into the summer, when a new siren song will be sent out to see if they can lure the midfielder from Old Trafford.
That will depend on whether Fernandes’ wishes for change or if Manchester United happen to find themselves ‘in a sea of uncertainty’ once again.
For now, neither party seems interested in a sale but with the money on offer, there’s clearly a belief that they can be tempted.
