There was a buzz surrounding the New York Jets last offseason after they traded for future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and plenty of people thought they had become Super Bowl contenders.

But that buzz died down quickly after Rodgers tore his Achilles on their first offensive series of the season, and they got exposed as a team that had several weaknesses.

Still, with the 2024 season more than five months away, former Jets star wide receiver Brandon Marshall feels that if Mike Williams and Garrett Wilson are healthy this coming season, the Jets will win the AFC East, per I AM ATHLETE.

Williams was signed as a free agent just days ago after the Los Angeles Chargers had released him in order to get under the salary cap, and he has been a productive wide receiver for several years.

However, the problem with him has been availability — he played just three games in 2023 because of an ACL injury, and he has appeared in every game of the season just once.

Marshall, though, gave Williams plenty of praise because of his size (he stands 6-foot-4) and said he could be in the conversation of being one of the NFL’s top five wideouts.

Williams will now be playing alongside Wilson, who was the 2022 Offensive Rookie of the Year and is a gifted wideout in his own right.

But everything will rise and fall for New York on the play of Rodgers, who is now 40 years of age and has tons of wear and tear.

If he’s unable to play at a relatively high level anymore, it is possible they won’t even make the playoffs, especially given how deep and talented the AFC is.
