Munich Munich’s metro stations are being gradually renovated; construction work that repeatedly causes restrictions on train traffic. Now, a metro line in the Bavarian capital is being cancelled during the summer holidays.

U7 has been cancelled due to renovation work on Maillingerstrasse

This was reported by the MVG as part of Munich’s renovation program Subway The rear track walls at the Maillingerstrasse metro station were renewed. During the summer holidays, the existing wall elements will be dismantled. For this reason, the Stiglmaierplatz to Rotkreuzplatz section will only be accessible via one track from Monday 29 July until probably Monday 9 September. For this reason, the U7 booster line will no longer be available during the holidays.

Delayed travel times on the U1

According to MVG, the U1 should be available to passengers without restrictions. During the construction work, a small shift in departure times of a few minutes in the morning and afternoon can be expected during the week from Monday to Friday. For the current departure times, MVG advises to check the MVGO app or the local timetable.

After more than 40 years of operation, the Maillingerstraße underground station, which opened in 1983, is now due for renovation. According to MVG, individual components must now be replaced due to their age. During the construction work, the facade will be removed and the concrete will be renovated and cleaned.
