The Minnesota Timberwolves might have a generational talent on their hands, and his name is Anthony Edwards.

Edwards has been a force of nature since he entered the NBA, and with his recent play in mind, he isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.

He recently went viral for his posterizing dunk over John Collins, a slam seemingly heard worldwide.

This is one of several highlight plays Edwards has been involved in throughout his young career, and it already has many fans and analysts talking.

Comparisons are something that happens a lot in sports media.

College players are given professional comparisons before they enter the league, and as they develop, those comparisons seem to also grow and develop over the years.

While comparisons tend to run rampant, very few players are compared to Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

Sam Mitchell recently indicated that Edwards could be a similar player to these two all-time greats.

“He’s the closest thing I’ve seen mentally and physically to Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan. He has that same mentality,” Mitchell said.

If this is the case, the Timberwolves should hold on to Edwards tightly, as his presence gives them hope of an NBA Finals title in the near future.

Without him, the Timberwolves would likely be around .500 this season, if not worse.

Edwards not only provides a lot of scoring upside for this team but his energy and intensity are unmatched, as Mitchell indicates.

Few players have been able to make such a valuable impact on their team in this short time frame.
