The New York Jets are in the midst of a pivotal offseason, as their 4-time MVP quarterback is returning from a torn Achilles and they have a short window to make good on their Super Bowl window with him under center.
The team has made an array of big moves around him this past month, and one Hall-of-Famer and former Jet has high praise for the team’s latest big move.
Joe Klecko, who also attended Temple University, called new Jet Haason Reddick “a player-and-a-half” after the team acquired him from the Eagles for a future 3rd-round pick.

Klecko added, “I don’t care how good they were on defense last year; it wasn’t good enough. Reddick makes them a much better football team. The opposite of a great quarterback is having great guys to put the quarterback down. That’s how the NFL works. This is a big deal. I love it.”
Klecko posted 78 sacks in his 11 years with the Jets, highlighted by the 20.5 sacks he put up in 1981, so he definitely knows a thing or two about hitting quarterbacks.
New York lost it’s 2023 leader in sacks, as Bryce Huff and his ten sacks ironically went to the Eagles in free agency.
The team collectively posted 48 sacks last season, but Huff was the only one who put up more than 7.5.
Reddick has 50.5 sacks in the last four years and should immediately take over as the Jets’ most impactful pass rusher.
Getting Klecko’s stamp of approval is great for Reddick and should make him feel immediately welcomed in New York.
