The Charlotte Hornets likely won’t be in the playoffs this season, as they are still the 13th seed in the East with just weeks to go before the postseason.

Despite that, fans of the team are hopeful for the future because of the deep well of talent on the roster.

Speaking to the Hornets Hive Cast, via /r/CharlotteHornets on Twitter, Grant Williams commented on two of his teammates.

“Brandon Miller, spitting image of Paul George,” Williams said.

He then added: “LaMelo Ball, mix of Luka Doncic and Tyrese Haliburton.”

“Bright future ahead as long as they stay committed and focused on the things that matter; keeping basketball first,” Williams stated.

For years now, Ball has been considered one of the most promising young guards in the league.

He has averaged 20 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 7.4 assists during his four years in the NBA and has been selected an All-Star as well as Rookie of the Year.

Ball is definitely the sort of young player that a front office can build a team around.

The only problem is that he has been having trouble staying healthy.

He only played 51 games during his rookie year and participated in just 36 last year.

After playing in only 22 games this season, Ball suffered another ankle injury and there is no timetable for his return.

As for Miller, his first year in the NBA has been a great one.

He is posting 16.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists a game and has become a vital part of the team’s starting five.

This season might not conclude how they wanted, but Williams and the rest of the Hornets are looking ahead with hope.

This season has been another troubled one but the future is still bright.
