After placing a franchise tag on star cornerback L’Jarius Sneed, the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs gave him permission to seek a trade if he wasn’t happy with playing on a one-year deal.
It seemed as though no trade was going to come to fruition and that Sneed would be back in Kansas City next season, and then, out of nowhere, a deal was struck with the Tennessee Titans, which was surprising, to say the least.
With Sneed being one of the best players available at his position, some have wondered whether any other teams showed interest in his services.
Apparently, there was some interest in trading for Sneed outside of what the Titans had expressed and ultimately acted upon, as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that two other teams had trade discussions with the Chiefs.
According to Schefter, the Indianapolis Colts and Minnesota Vikings both showed interest in trading for Sneed via The Pat McAfee Show.
“The Chiefs did speak to other teams before they traded L’Jarius Sneed..
They spoke to the Vikings and there may have been a brief conversation with the Colts..
The Titans were in on him all along and that was the best offer the Chiefs got” @AdamSchefter #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/SjmhWfsKZx

Although the Colts and Vikings showed interest, as Schefter said, the trade talks went nowhere, leaving the door open for the Titans to get a deal done in order to bolster their secondary with the addition of Sneed.
The Titans were thought to be a team that was beginning a rebuilding process after the team parted ways with head coach Mike Vrabel and letting superstar running back Derrick Henry walk in NFL free agency, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with the team being aggressive this offseason.
Along with bringing in Sneed on the defensive side of the football, the Titans signed star wide receiver Calvin Ridley and star running back Tony Pollard in order to surround promising young quarterback Will Levis with talent on offense.
