No team was more disappointing in the NFL playoffs than the second-seeded Dallas Cowboys, who many believed could go the distance and potentially win the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately, the Cowboys’ postseason performance was more of the same, even though the team was stacked on both sides of the football and played on their home field, AT&T Stadium, in Arlington, Texas, in the first round.

Dallas fell flat in the worst way possible in the first round with Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers making easy work of Dak Prescott and company, which led a lot of speculation about Prescott’s future with the team.

Despite being unable to prove his worth in the playoffs once again, Prescott once again received a vote of confidence from longtime team owner Jerry Jones, who let it be known that the team would try to sign him to a long-term contract extension.

Although the team missed the opportunity to get a deal done with Prescott before NFL free agency, leading to more speculation about his future, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler claims the team is still trying to get a deal done with the veteran quarterback, via NFL on ESPN.

“The notion that the Cowboys don’t want to re-sign Dak Prescott is false, they are going to try,” Fowler said.

Only time will tell what will happen between Prescott and the Cowboys, as he could very well sign another massive contract extension to secure his future in Dallas.

However, anything can happen from here on out, especially with the fan base not exactly crazy about keeping Prescott on a long-term basis.
