A seemingly unstable man undergoes major surgery Police unleashed in the Hamburg district of Lurup. The man was overpowered by special forces after about two hours and taken into custody, a police spokesman said in the evening. He had previously barricaded himself in an apartment on the second floor of a house on Boberstrasse. So no one was injured.
According to the police, the first emergency calls came in around 20:25. It was initially unclear whether there was a hostage situation and whether the man was armed. According to information from “Bild”, the man is said to have threatened with grenades, among other things. The police were still on the scene late in the evening and have secured evidence.
