A woman has died from “serious injuries” in north Wales, as police charged a man with murder.

The 69-year-old woman was discovered at a house in Rhyl, Wales on Thursday evening.

The woman was taken to hospital, but sadly died shortly afterwards.

Mears has since been charged with the woman’s murder and is due to appear at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

A 25-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. However, she was released on bail and has not been named.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee Boycott said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this sad time, who are being supported by specialist police teams.

“Her Majesty’s Coroner has also been informed. Our investigation is continuing and I would urge anyone with information who has not yet come forward to contact us via our live chat or on 101.”
