The World War II bomb that was discovered on Monday during excavation work in Barmstedt (Pinneberg district) will be defused on Friday at 10 a.m. Meanwhile, more than 1,000 people in northeastern Barmstedt are having to leave their homes and apartments, as the city announced on its website. An evacuation zone with a radius of at least 500 meters will be set up around the location where the unexploded bomb was found.

The evacuation will take place from 8 a.m. on Friday, the spokesperson said. Affected residents will be informed by the city of Barmstedt. According to the information, the Pinneberg youth association on Düsterlohestraat is available to them as a place of residence. The media had previously reported on the defusal date.
