The Los Angeles Chargers are ready to compete at the highest level.

Hiring Jim Harbaugh was a big step in that direction, as the ownership and the front office finally realized that they needed to make a statement and not settle for anything other than a proven winner.

Notably, the Chargers haven’t even taken the field under Harbaugh, but the former Michigan head coach has already made a big change in the locker room.

As reported by Dan Wolkenstein of the Los Angeles Chargers Unleashed podcast, Harbaugh has rearranged the locker room numerically, adding each player’s recruit level to their nameplates (from non-recruited to five-star prospect).

This is clearly a big way to motivate the players and show them just how much they’ve accomplished throughout the course of their careers.

The Chargers need to show some hunger and determination to prove that they can also go toe-to-toe with the so-called Super Bowl contenders.

This team has knocked on the door of contention way too many times already, and they shouldn’t be that far behind, given that they still have plenty of talent on defense, a proven head coach, and a talented franchise quarterback.

Of course, it might take a while before Harbaugh can turn this ever-struggling franchise around, and success rarely comes overnight.

Then again, it’s been loud and clear that this team is about to do things differently going forward, and for the first time in quite a while, it’s an exciting time to be a Los Angeles Chargers fan.
